Coppi's

To whomever asked about Coppi's (you must have read Velonews), I've been to Coppi's twice now, so I'll throw out my opinions... Let me preface this by saying I am a 21 year olf grad. student, so any comments about price should be taken with a grain of salt by you employed people!

First of all the atmosphere is great, its pretty small, wouldn't seat more than 50 I would guess. Very subdued lighting, very "warm." All the bike photos on teh walls are cool, especially if you like cycling. The bathroom is clean, the entire restautant gleams. The only negative on the atmosphre is the music, both times I was there they had a total mix going Opera--->Classic Rock--->Urban, etc... Very annoying!

Food is great, but a little spendy for my budget. "Personal Size" pizzas are all $7.50 as I recall. They are totally yummy, but they're not going to fill you up at all. If you're looking to fuel up after a long day, you'll need to get appitizers and desert. That being said, the pizza is the best I've had in the the whole world _except_ for Old Town Pizza in Portland, Oregon! I highly reccomend getting one with smoked mozzarella instead of regular moz. The seafood one is OK, the eggplant one is excellent, and the Primavera comes highly reccomended by my friends.

Conclusion: A great place for a date or night out with a few other people (4-5), but not the type of place to go after the softball game! Ambiance is probaly lost on youngsters.

PS Parking, both times I had to park about three blocks away.

Can anyone compare Coppi's with Pizzeria Paradiso, which I have heretofore considered the best Italian-style pizza in the DC area?
