I am looking for a place that is not stuffy and has : good food. If anybody has ever been to Santorini in Chicago's Greektown, : yoiu'll know what I mean...

: Red Sage (steaks?)
Expensive & upscale southwestern food. Quite tasty, but it feels a little weird to be spending $25+ per entree for that cuisine, even when it's that nicely prepared.

: Morrison Clark
They did our wedding reception, and I've eaten there twice besides. Not exactly stuffy, but certainly more formal a setting than Red Sage. Wonderful desserts & appetizers, entrees missed the level of the rest once or twice. Still, truly excellent food overall.

: Vidalia -- head it's good , what's the cuisine?, atmosphere? Ate there Tuesday night - it's great. Roughly as southern as Red Sage is southwestern, which is to say they both go in their own directions using the vocabulary of the cooking they're based on. Lots of their food uses Vidalia onions. It's fairly casual for a place of that caliber. Everything was beautifully prepared, every dish really clever. Being southern, their iced tea was excellent (not sweet, alas, but Earl Grey.)

Of my three, then, based on the atmosphere requirements, I vote for Red Sage or Vidalia.

Now I'm hungry.

Hope this helps,
