Try Mi Rancho, behind Industrial Photo. Good Tex-Mex, and they have their own flour tortilla maker just inside the front door. Also, Vicino's on Sligo Ave. one block off Georgia. Good, cheap Southern Italian. Excellent white pizza, fried zucchini appetizers.

If you're in the Wheaton area of Silver Spring, check out Nam's or Saigonese! YUM! Both are inexpensive, you never have to wait, and the food is marvelous. Saigonese has an extensive vegetarian menu, too, and the chef is open to suggestions. While I'm at it, let me put in a plug for two Indian vegetarian places on Route 193 that are in Adelphi/Langley Park. Udupi Palace is elegant but they do let you in in jeans and there's always a line but the food is well worth the wait. Swagat isn't quite as fancy but certainly pleasant to sit in and they serve a wonderful buffet at reasonable prices. (and there's no line. yet!) Enjoy!

I don't believe I've ever had worse Mexican food than that I had at Mi Rancho. Their ceviche was *old*, their beans flavorless, and their shrimp were small and chewy. </eal>
