Negril (The Jamaican Bakery) in Waterside Mall is an astounding value. I HIGHLY recommend the "side order" as a meal for $2.80 -- rice & beans on one side, and a salad on the other, with chicken stock as flavoring. This item is one of the single finest food bargains I've ever seen. If you're an NFL linebacker, get a "meat loaf," "vegetable patty," or piece of "coco bread" to go with it -- you'll have more than enough food. The chicken-noodle soup is cheap, homemade, and excellent. If you're really bold, ask them for some Matouk's hot sauce to dump onto your side order. It's made from the scotch bonnett pepper, which has ruined many a day for the faint-of-stomach. The place is managed (owned?) by a middle-aged Korean lady who took over several years ago, but I have not noticed any deterioration in authenticity (who am I to judge?) since Angie and Theresa, two Jamaican women, left to go to another store. The place is carryout only. Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Don Rockwell. : Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it might be worth checking out. * OLX 2.1 TD * Chicken heads are the chief food of captive alligators. --------- Fidonet: Gregg Golden 1:109/622 Internet: [email removed]
