Any recommendations? ------------- Ah my friend you are in luck. I think bethesda has lots of really good places to eat. First one that comes to mind is Buon Giorno, Small italian and wonderful, special food and owners, Their pesto is to die for. Ask for Dani, she's the Matire D and daughter, and tell her the Bixlers sent you. I think they close in august to go to italy for a visit. There's a mexican place right next door that is run of the mill atmosphere, but the food is terrific. Bacchus is good Middle Eastern food. For good seafood go to O'Donnells or Bish Tompsons (kind of like a Phillips crab house with a little more class). Both on Wisconsin Avenue. There are some elegant (or used to be) chinese restaurants. I think one is called house of Kay, but it used to be located upstairs from the bethesda metro station next to the hyatt. Then there are a few sushi places and more italian places all are pretty good. And most of them are in the Woodmont Triangle (as they call it). For french La Vieux Loges is not bad, and somewhat elegant, but the best is in Great Falls VA, L'auberge francois. At anyrate, I'm sure you'll find something you like. Mary f.

The Tako Grill on Wisconsin Avenue is good for Japanese; they have good sushi and very good Sukiyaki. The Cheesecake Factory in Friendship Heights (towards the city, on Wisconsin Ave, across from Mazza Gallery) has surprisingly good food for a chain. The only problem there is that you generally have to wait a couple of hours to get a table. Many people swear by the Rio Grande Cafe for Tex-Mex. It's in Bethesda, and also very busy. Tim Bartlett
