My husband and I used to live in that area and we liked the places mentioned in the first two postings, but another place I must mention is a Taste of Saigon. It's in Rockville just north of the Rockville metro stop and it has the most excellent Vietnamese food, it'll just make you cry for more. All the phos are excellent and during the summer they usually run black bean seafood specials (like with prawns, scallops, or soft shelled crabs).

Another place we loved for breakfast is the absolute best place for breakfast, The Original Pancake House. It's kind of hard to find, look it up in the phonebook. You must try this place especially if you're in a mood not to care about fat/calories. Oh, and you must get the pineapple pancakes, they were my fav.

Oh, a little bar and grill we liked was Fritzbe's. It's in Rockville too (on the Pike) and they had good basic food and good prices and a hot fudge brownie sundae to die for!

These are the three places I miss the most. I wish we could find something comparable here on the peninsula (just south of San Fran, north of Palo Alto).
