Come on folks -- there are a few GOOD places.

Try Old Glory BBQ at 3139 M St. NW --- 202/337-3406 --- good smoke, good ribs & brisket, great pie.

Rocklands Washington Barbecue & Grilling at 2418 Wisconsin Ave. NW (at Calvert Street --202/333-2558 -- is terrific -- great choppe d pork sandwich, good ribs and good sides

Ella's at 1233 Brentwood Rd. NE -- 202/635-3991 -- is very good too

and Red Hot & Blue is a chain with several locations -- not the greatest, but above average
