Haven't tried all the restaurants in Richmond, but, after several visits, the best so far is "The Frog and the Redneck" in Shockoe (sp?) Slip. The Slip is a former tobacco warehouse area where several restaurants now have located. There's a good Chinese place there, too. Also, West Broad Street has at least one representative of each major restaurant chain in the world. (Back to "The F and the R") -- they have an option of just letting the chef cook what he wants for you. Do that. I went there a year ago after an afternoon of intense dental work at the Medical College of Virginia and loved the place. (Name me any other place that would get a good review after an afternoon of intense dental work.)

Recommendations for Richmond?
One of the best restaraunts in Richmond is Davis & Main, at the corner of Davis & Main Streets (natch) in the FAN. They've seafood, beef, and chicken dishes, reasonably-priced and quite tasty. And they've the best burgers in the area (Black Angus beef). It's a very cosy atmosphere - lots of regulars, jazz & Big Band music, good service.
