Chez Fred's in Westbourne Bournemouth is excellent and is patronized by many famous showbiz personalities. I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. If you're talking about London, the Seashell in Lisson Grove, near Marylebone Station, is quite good. However, most people reckon the best fish and chips in the U.K. are to be found in Yorkshire, and I haven't eaten them there for too long to make specific recommendations. At the top of Baker Street in the centre of Brighton there is a shop who's name escapes me, but their fish and chips are excellent. They do a sit down service as well. Good eating Chris. (Bearing in mind the new EEC Cod quotas this likley to be the last year for at least twenty or so that you are going to be able to go into a chippy and say "Large Cod and Chips twice and not pay over 20 quid) Anyway "Seashell "on Lisson Grove near Marlebone in NW London is reasonable as is the one in Islington twhose name I forget not being an Arsenal man. Avoid Micki's (All over west London)like the plauge. Most of thier boys don,t have a basic food hygine cert. My local which is on Stanley Park Rd Carshalton Beeches is VERY good.Huge Cod and Chips £3.50 and theres an off license next door. Best Shish Kebab Thers a place one block east of the Old Vic in Victoria which does a great chicken shish.
