I liked Wolf's next to the London Hilton, and just around the corner from The Hard Rock London. I hope Wolfs is still ther it has been a few years ago now.

London Help?
In Mayfair Les Saveurs 37a Curzon Street, Mayfair, London. 0171-491-8919 - January 1995 French. £125 for 2 A basement restaurant with generous space between tables serving some serious modern French food as well as a few classical dishes. A dish of Guinea Fowl with tapenade accompanied by roast baby aubergine, a little ratatouille, and a sublime yet elusive small risotto of courgettes and truffle was sensational. French wine list of course but one or two regional gems below £20. Enthusiastic and proud young French staff and wine waiter (unusual). Certainly better value than Paris. At the other extreme (I have not been here, this is a review posted on CIX) SOFRA, 18 Shepherd Street - Turkish Tucked away near Shepherds Market near Green Park Tube and an excellent place to eat before or after visiting the (also excellent) Curzon Mayfair cinema. Sofra does the full range of grilled Turkish bits & bobs (grilled lamb fillet, kofte lamb & beef meatballs, kebaby bits) as well as very healthy homemade vegetable soup, tasty dishes with okra. The 2 course (or 3 courses if you count salad as a course!) quick menu is £5 + 15% service and is available all day until midnight. Although you are only allowed 30 minutes, the service was very fast and good natured. We even had proper fabric napkins and a dip with cucumber, carrots and olives on the table. The generous lump of Pida bread (not pitta) was very tasty - and I'm a bit of a breadophile. Soho, north of Piccadilly, is full of restaurants. We have enjoyed a meal at Bistro Bruno in Frith Street. Good value but you don't get much space. Go there before September when chef Bruno Loubert moved to Regent Street. £50 or so for 2. Atelier in Beak Street is new and looks good value, we had 2 very fine meals when they ran a restaurant in Chiswick for 2 months practice last year. Approx. £60 for 2. Stay away from Alastair Little (also Frith Street) until August and during September as Alastair is away in Italy during those periods. Approx £90+ for 2. I have seen mixed reviews of Del Ugo in Frith Street. For a great value lunch try Dim Sum in one of the many Chinese places 300 yds. NE of Piccadilly in Chinatown (south of Frith Street) If you are into wine there is an excellent Wine Bar (Shampers?) that also does food at the south end of King Street which is just east of Regent Street.
