Here are just a few of my fave spots:

Chuy's - several locations, my favorite is on Barton Springs. Killer Tex Mex style, great sauces. Don't miss the Elvis shrine!

Shady Grove - run by the same folks, just down the street on Barton Springs. More Tex than Mex, all excellent

If you are in Austin and want to do a killer Sunday brunch check out Fonda San Miguel...regional Mexican specialties in a gorgeous setting. Reservations are required. If you like it hot ask for their chipotle salsa on the side.

Very good BBQ and excellent views can be had at County Line...their all-you-can eat deals for the entire table are an excellent value.

If you are into grazing you might want to make a stop at Central Market, one of the most amazing grocery stores on the planet. Assemble a picnic lunch and enjoy Austin alfresco.

Let us know where you go!

Trudy's and Serrano's are both great mexican restaurants - don't have addresses. Also City Grill - more expensive, but wonderful seafood and steak dishes.
