If you have time while in Austin to drive up the road a bit to Gruene, Texas (just outside New Braunfels, try Guadalupe Pit Smoked Meat Company, 830-625-4036. In my opinion they have some of the best smoked brisket you can find in the universe. Take home a couple of jars of their barbeque sauce too. It is the best I have ever tried.

As an aside, with the permission of all who contributed, I am creating a catalog of the "Best Barbeque Joints in America," intended for publication on the Web when its ready, these will be investigated and added to the list.

Good eating in Texas. Please let us know the results of your Q quest.

Thanks
