But if you ever get homesick and want a taste of good New Orleans cuisine - Make the trip up to Round Rock and visit Gumbo's on 620 near Chisholm Trail. The owners (husband and wife) are both transplants from Lousiana and they are meticulous about everything, from the preparation and delivery of the food, to the napkins on the tables, to the music on the sound system. You really can't go wrong. They used to be located on the corner of Bratton Lane and Merrilltown where the IBM'ers, Dell employees, etc, would line up for their doors to open for lunch at 11am. Since the move, they've shortened their hours to dinner only and are open Tues-Sat. (Their only fault really...) They can afford to be picky with their hours now as their reputation and client base is well-established. You can feed yourself on the cheap for about $7 (etoufee, bread w/ lemon-garlic butter and a drink) but do yourself a favor, bring your girlfriend and about $40-50 and make a dinner of it. After you do, shoot me a mail and tell me how it measures up. ;) Gravot Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
