If you have not been to the Kolache Shop (Shoppe?) on Burnet Road, you
must go. No, seriously, run, don't walk. I make the case that they have the finest kolaches *in the world*. Yes, I've been to West, I've been to La Grange, and I've sampled kolaches in many a small Czech-Tex burg, and these are the best.
Also, the cinnamon rolls, twisties, cookies, and other baked goods are
by far the best that I've had in Austin. Bar none, including Central Market and Upper Crust.
Fearing the waistline, since it's 3 blocks from our house,

I do think that the kolaches at Kolacek's Kitchen in downtown West are better. Most people who stop in West go to the shops on the frontage road, they are OK but not great. The next time you go through there make the short trip to downtown. My Mom still makes are the best kolaches... ;-) __________________________________________________________ Fred Nemecek (512) 458-1112 x19 Intercim Corporation [email removed]
