>They have a similar deal out Amarillo way. >However, it's a sirloin and it's 72 oz. I've been to this place!!! Yep, right in Amarillo! Can't recall the exact name??? Somethin' like Big Ed's Char House or sumpthin'? It was a big place with about every type of stuffed critter known to man on the wall. They came around to your table with a "meat cart" and custom cut yer steak for you. I don't recall it being great but it was BIG -- TEXAS BIG!!! I believe they had rattlesnake chili and other exotic game too. It was a friggin' huge steak though! And if ya ate all of the "biggun" it was free. Only about 10 folks had ever done it, one a 72 yr old woman and one a 10 yr old boy I seem to recall. It was a fun place and the beer was mighty cold too! The funniest thing was, about 3 miles down the road was a huge cattle slaughter house with 100's of head outside in a corral beside the killing floor house. Not the most appetizing site on the drive home.

Best steak restaurants
I just happened to think of another steak house that is off the beaten path. If you are travelling across Texas, going through Big Spring, try the Branding Iron. Many moons ago, I stopped, and had one of the best steaks I have ever put in my mouth. Now I realize this is going to be a sacrilege among many, but they have a brand of steak sauce named Parkers, that is outstanding. For the purists that don't like to use steak sauce on steaks, try it on meat loaf. I don't think you will be disappointed. Our family goes though a case in no time flat. It sure beats the hell out of the chemically dependent Heinz 57. Another steak house that used to be real good was Reata Pass north of Scottsdale, AZ. Large, tender cowboy steaks, that would melt in your mouth. Just south of there was the famous Pinnacle Peak steak house, where they had more cut off ties than they had ceiling room. I always preferred Reata Pass to Pinnacle Peak.
