Although I still love Luger's the best, I'll agree here... Del Frisco's (Dallas) is really good...also in Dallas, I liked Old SanFrancisco... who could beat a huge block of cheese, a big steak and a girl on a swing.. (ok, kinda corny)... Sorry, never ate at Smith and Lewinski's (!) in NY, did eat at the one in Vegas- 2 thumbs down... Gallaghers at NewYork, NewYork was pretty good... and, I wish someone would tell me how in the world Son Shula's makes some of these lists...

One of the local Dallas magazines voted Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant as having on of the best steaks in Dallas. Big, thick, tender and lots of flavor.

By the way Campisi's Egyptian is an Italian joint. When they opened in the 50's they took over an Egyptian Restaurant and could not afford to have the sign changed. The place would definately be at home in New York, say Mt Vernon.

Ya know, I've never had a steak there, but Campisi's is one of those kinda place you can't not like. I grew up in Dallas and fondly remember my grandparents taking me there for pizza (a unique rounded rectangular pie) and ravioli.

Went back there recently with family after having not been in YEARS...it was like stepping back in time.

Definitely worth checking out, as is another old school Dallas steakery, Kirby's. I think they're still in business. Typical 50's no-frill steak fare...excellent!

I now live in Utah, home to 1 of my 2 favorite steak restaurants in the world, The Steak Pit at Snowbird. YUM!!! My other favorite is a place in Argentina.
