If you're ever in Austin, try:

Chuy's - TexMex - unique atmosphere - typical college hangout - good salsa

Louie's 106 - Eclectic American/Pseudo French -Best items are appetizers and desserts - I recommend the escargots and I highly recommend the Creme Brulee

Fonda San Miguel - Great Mexican food - service is o.k.

County Line BBQ - on the lake - some of the best BBQ and sauce in TX

Salt Lick - great BBQ place in the beautiful hill country - just outside of Austin - bring your own coolers - great place to go in a large group

Shady Grove - great hamburgers

Kerbey Lane - typical 24 hrs college hang out. Food is average. Good for late night
