I went to Mallorca with a friend about a month ago and was quite happy
with the food and service. However, it was my first time going there and
so I can't tell you how it compares to what it used to be like. The only
complaint I had was that there was sand in some of the shellfish as one
earlier poster had warned about. I'd also advise you to split an entree
as the amount of food is easily enough for two people.

I was at Mallorca this past Saturday. I would rate it "ok". The hors d'oeuvres
were pretty tasty and the main dishes at our table (mostly fish) were well
prepared and cooked as per request. The lettuce in the salad could have been
fresher. The flan I had was good but not particularly notable. The coffee was
 forgettable.

Overall I like Mallorca. It somehow manages to make its combination of rough
presentation, oversized portions and general cacophony work, at a reasonable
price. This is not the place to go for that intimate dinner for two, but it's
well suited for larger parties, where your focus is the group and not so much
the details of the dining experience.
