Last time I was there they : had a strolling violinist, too. : -- : Mike Coleman I don't believe in reincarnation, : Allegheny R&D, Inc. but in my previous life I did. : Pittsburgh, PA You might also try the Grandview Saloon. There is a nice view, the menu is varied (soups, sandwiches, salads, pasta, etc.), the meals are rather inexpensive (as compared to the neighboring ones). There is a parking lot across the street on Grandview Av. Look for it near the upper station of the Duquesne Incline.

Mt. Washington
If you do go the the Grandview Saloon for the view, make sure you request a table in the front room near the windows overlooking Mt. Washington. If not, you might end up where we did--in the back room with a view of nothing but a big-screen TV showing videos. Faye
My recommendation for Mt. Washington would be to have dinner elsewhere (Grand Concourse would be a convenient choice), and then go up to Mt. Washington for dessert. The City Lights Cafe is right near the top of the Duquesne incline (_not_ the one from Station Square) at . They have the usual assortment of espresso drinks, teas, italian sodas, etc., plus lots of good desserts in the $3 to $4 range -- cheesecake, tarts, cakes, as well as smaller desserts. And, of course, they have the view. Jen

Brian: I go to both restaurants alot (expense account, ya know), and neither one in my opinion has food quality as good as the bottom of the hill. Le Mont does have an impressive wine list and very knowlegable sommolier. If I had my choice, I'd go to the Grandview Saloon. But, short of San Franciso, where do you get a view with your meal Like Mt. Washington on a clear night? Ken
