Jamisons

Had a pleasant surprise tonight. Went to Jamisons, which is the old
Laseks Bar just off the Oakland exit on the Parkway East.

I had their special which was 12 oz Prime rib. It was served with salad,
baked potato and broccoli and cauliflower combo.

The meat was much larger than 12 oz. and done to perfection. On the down
side it was sliced off the roast and then grilled until done. While this
is not how I prefer my meat done, it was extremely tender and and full
of flavor. The potato was done perfectly (which is hard to get these
 days). The vegetables done perfectly.

My better half had angel hair pasta tossed with olive oil garlic
parmesan cheese mushrooms tomatoes and olives. Pasta was al dente and
there was enough garlic to make it truly favorable.

My prime rib was $8.99 and the pasta was $6.50. Both were great bargains
and deserve a look when going there.

If you are looking for a place with waiters in tuxes and an extensive
foreign wine list, this is not the place. But is you are looking for a
family restaurant with modest prices and good food give it a try.
