Wow...what can I say? It's exciting to have two really great new
 restaurants in town!

I had dinner at La Cucina Flagrea in Squirrel Hill twice now in the last
week...I cannot say enough how incredibly delicious everything is! This
ain't your typical local Italian! Everything is fresh, and made with
tender loving care! The selections are out of this world, and every
bite is yummy, right down to dessert (A tira misu that makes the BYOB
 policy irrelevant!).

I only had a salad for lunch at Le Perroquet (a brand-spanking new
French Bistro) in Shadyside (where Jaya used to be), but I was also very
 impressed.

Both places are definitely higher priced than Pittsburgh
'moderate'...but the quality of both food and service make them both
 extremely worthy of special occasions!

IMHO, I would have to put them up in the top five restaurants on my
 favorites list...

The menu at Le Perroquet, since it is a Bistro, is not extensive.
However there was at least something in the way of vegetarian fare for
 both entree and main courses.
