So what's the name of the Texas BBQ place in Slippery Rock? Will
be out in that direction Saturday.

 thanks,

There's a place called Super Duper Weiner (Weinie?) near the I95
exit 24 in Fairfield. I don't know if you recall it being mentioned in
 the
"Hotdog Program" (or was it Hotdog Show?) by Rick Sebak. It used
to be a lunch truck with a big weinie on top but a couple of years
ago they opened a little shop. I had a hell of a time finding it
 because
the roads in the area go every which way and there's a lot of them
so it's not easy to find even with directions from a native. ;-) Anyway
if you want to check it out ask around town and someone can tell
 you how to get there.

The ice cream place was on CT58 on the west side of the street.
I just went to the yellow pages and I think I found it - Sunny Daes
(the minute I saw that name I remembered!) at 2505 Black Rock
 Turnpike which is CT58.

 P. S. if you want to avoid horrendous traffic and have the time try
 using
the Merritt Pkwy (CT15) which runs east/west and parallels I95 but
 several
miles further inland. It's very pretty - still lots of traffic but
 nowhere near
 as bad as I95.

Bummer! Could have bought a cheap styrofoam cooler and some
 ice. :-)

Oh, and if you want to go to The Meadows for frozen custard take
the Altoona/Holidaysburg exit from I99/US220 and go towards
Holidaysburg. That should put you onto W. Plank Rd. (or US220 Bus.)
head south and The Meadows is on the west side of the road about
1.25 - 1.5 miles south. It's right on the corner of an intersection
 with
a stoplight and across from the Hollidaysburg Plaza.
