In pgh.food I read this message from "Allison G."
 :

 |hello,
 |my fiancé and I are planning a trip to the strip district soon. We are
 |wondering if anyone can recommend some restaurants in that neighborhood.
 |Have not been to Roland's since college, never been to Valhalla though I
 |hear it is better to stick with the beer than the food. It has been awhile
 |since I have been to Kaya, which was one of my favorite places to eat and
 |hang out whenever I was in the strip. And, what about the brew pubs that
 |have sprung up down there? Any comments and experiences would be greatly
 |appreciated. Thanks!

Depends on when you are going and what meal you are planning on. For
lunch Mon-Sat I recommend (not surprisingly) Enricco's. It is
informal, soup and pizza eaten standing up, but great soup and pizza
and great baked goods. Enricco's is on the same block as Penn Mac.
