best restaurant (hands down) in the area

 HI everyone.

I've been withholding this for a long time!! Shame on me.

I recently found a restaurant in the area (well, North...) that is so
excellent, it's unreal. I'm extremely picky, so this actually means
something. Not sure if any of you have tried it or not, but it's called
Clifford's and its near Seneca Valley High School outside of Harmony.

It's very hard to get in because the chefs don't make anything ahead of
time. They prepare everything to order. Therefore, the restaurant is
small and reservations are difficult to get -- usually about a 3 week
wait for a weekend reservation. The selections are incredible. Last
time I was there I had a pork tenderloin San Francisco style, which was
in a sauce that combined sugar, soy sauce, ginger and some other things
I couldn't detect, but boy was it good. I've also had the stuffed pork
chop (which is about 4" thick). My husband always gets the salmon,
which is the best he's had (and he's from Europe).

Everything is made from scratch -- including the rolls, which come out
of the oven piping hot. The chefs are european and are probably make
the best stuff I've eaten and I've been to Europe 3 times. I can
honestly say its not only the best in the area, it's the best I've been
 to period.

Don't have the number offhand, but I'm sure it's in the book or
directory assistance. It's on Swain Hill Road. Someone please go there
so you can tell me I'm not hallucinating to have found this place in my
 own backyard.

You have *GOT* to try it. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed.

I'll have to check this out. I think my favorite restaurant in the northern
area in general is the Log Cabin Inn, on 19 just north of Zelienople. They
have a nice selection of steak and seafood, and everything I've ordered there
has been very good. Prices are quite reasonable too. There are some sister
restaurants run by the same people but I haven't tried any of them yet.

Some other places I've checked out lately:

Just tried a restaurant in Franklin Park called "Franklin Inn Mexican
Restaurant". This is quite possibly the worst Mexican I have ever had.
Their idea of an chicken enchilada is a tortilla, some cheese, and chicken.
No spices, flavorings, sauces, nada. The food was amazingly bland. I'll
 stick with Don Pablo's.

Just revisited Miyako, a Japanese restaurant on 19 in Wexford. I should go
there more often. It's one of those where they cook at your table, and the
food is excellent. Entrees are about $20-$25.

I also just checked out our local Ruth Chris Steakhouse (downtown in the PPG
building) after having gone there in Seattle last year. Extremely good steaks
(best I've ever had), but quite pricey.

Here's another in the same area. Just took my wife there for her 40th
birthday. It's called Shakespear's, and it just opened in December. It's
located on Rt. 65 at the edge of Sewickly Hts/Evens City, at the Old Stone
Golf Course. It's literally built like an old english castle, turrets and
all! The food is amazing, same with service. And to top it off, the most
expensive item on the menu was $18.95 (rack of lamb in a mustard seed crust,
which my wife had). Wonderful wine list. From Cranberry Twp., we went to
Zelienopal (sp ?), and turned left at the old Kaufman house(red light),
after a mile or 2 you come to a "Y", go left. Stay on that road till you
come to Rt. 65. The restaurant will be right in front of you.

 Regards,
 Hunter
