I personally would recommend the food. Although I am a harsh grader
of Tex-Mex food (i am from Dallas) I have enjoyed the food and
atmosphere of Cozumels. It's not great but it is certainly not bad.

The time I went their for lunch I had some of the worst food I have ever
eaten. The salsa was gross, the tamale was dry, the beans were super-cheap
canned crap, and everything had an absolutely mediocre uninteresting flavor.
MadMex's psuedo-SW foor at least tastes good, and you can get good
 beer'n'salsa.

I would not recommend Cozumel even slightly to anyone, except, perhaps as
Daniel mentions, for music and drinks.

 Dont. Go. There. Really.

I agree with Barry - the food at Cozumel is terrible!

Now, if you want good Tex-Mex, head out to Toledo. We found a place then called Don Pueblo (I think that's the name). It is on Airport Hwy by the intersection of Rt 475. The food is excellant and the service is great. Last Saturday, we were there for lunch. I ordered the bottomless bowl of tortilla soup and Lorraine ordered chicken flautas. I also asked for a bowl of there black bean salsa on the side. They have regular and spicy salsas with chips and will bring pico-de-gallo if you request it. The flour tortilla are made fresh - they have two young ladies there whose job it is to make the things. The bill for the two of us was a whopping $11 (including tip) and we had both eatne our fill. This place is definitely worth the road trip!
