We had dinner at Cafe Asia last night and while the service continues
to be slow, the food was quite good. The portions are on the smaller
side and we were also surprised not to get rice with the dishes but
the food was good enough that we will be back.

Think of this place as an upscale Spice Island Tea House. The menu
is thai, vietnamese and japanese. Decor is minimalistic and quite a
change of pace from the typical asian resaturant. I was impressed
that the Tom Yum soup is made fresh.. in fact they expect it takes so
long to make that they will only make it as an entree not an
appetizer. We had the spring rolls (Goi Cuon), pretty good but not
as good as at Trams, Squid and steamed white fish. The steamed white
fish (trout) was excellent-- great flavors that didn't overwhelm, and
came with the feeling that we were eating something healthy. Along with
a bowl of rice and noodles, and green tea icecream the bill was
$34 without tip. So, its mid range but all in all worth it.
