Baum Vivant last night

I had not been to Baum Vivant in some time, maybe years. I certainly will
not wait that long again. My wife's entree was a special: sea scallops
wrapped in salmon over a golden tomato sauce. One of the first dishes we've
tried in which the salmon is not the strongest flavor, though the scallop
flover was mild it was stronger than the salmon and it was seared then baked
to comforting perfection. I ordered an appetizer made to entree size:
crabmeat and smoked salmon timbales with caviar over orange cream. This
cold dish was just what I wanted on a hot night, and had strong onion
component. The place was lovely and quiet, the house red from Portugal was
exellent, as was the service & the little freebies - the crostini with olive
hummus, the gourmet bread and butter, intermezzo drink to cleanse the
palate, homemade pecan cookies. Can't say enough about the experience.
