If you like vegetarian, Kingdom of Vegetarians on 11th St between Race & Arch is great. Priscilla B. wrote:

You guys (and ladies too)

Joy Tsai Lau is the best. Really.

It has been for the past 10 years, anyway.

On Race, between 10th and 11th.

;)

Most people I know like Joy Tsing Lau in the on Race Street about a block from the Convention Center on the right side. There's another one down the street, in the 8 or 900 hundred block, whose name I can't remember. I've eaten there too & have enjoyed it. Quite large, rooms on 2 floors, mostly Asian families, on the left side of the street.

You may be thinking of Ocean Harbor, at 1023 Race St., which we like better than Joy Tsin Lau.

Yes! Go to Ocean Harbor! Great selection, service, and seating. Aim between 2 and 4, when less around. Its strangely located farthest from all of Chinatown and very close to Delaware Ave. Note there is no view, despite its near riverside location. It's also very priceworthy, as is Dim Sum in general. Hopefully, one of you in the group can speak Mandarin... it always helps, but as the carts roll around, you may get by in politely pointing. And remember, from what I learn, only look at the servers when you want more food.

Much of luck and Bon Appetit!

Went to Ocean Harbor yesterday on the advice of this board. Got there at 12:30
- had to wait approx. 10 minutes before a table opened up.

Food was excellent, however, we had a very very difficult time understanding what each of the dishes was. We ordered way more than we should have as we wanted to try as much as possible (sorry, I chickend out on the jellyfish!). For 3 of us, with more than we could eat, the bill came to $32.00. Not bad!

Went to Ocean Harbor today . Normally we always go to Joy Tsin Lau but decided to try Ocean Harbor based on some of the postings on this board. Incidently, these two restaurants are across the street from each other.

While we enjoyed OH I think that JSL is just a little better. One thing we missed was the sesame seed balls that we always get at Joy Tsin Luck. They were not to be found at Ocean Harbor. This wasn't a major problem since there is a grocery store a couple of doors down and they carried them.
