There is a pizza resturaunt that is like no other I've ever seen. On the corner of 9th and Race, Joey's Pizza. They call themselves "gormet pizza" They recently won some award, I think the "Golden Spoon" or something like that.

I cant remember exactly what kinds of pizza they sell but here are a few of my favorites...

Egg plant parmigian pizza
Buffalo wing pizza - buffalo sauce, chicken, celery, bleu cheese. Fajita pizza Cheese steak pizza Bacon cheese burger pizza

Trust me, they have the most unique great tasting pizza around.

Please post/email if you agree that this is great pizza. Tell them you saw Larry post it on the internet, maybe I'll get a free slice of Egg plant parmigian, my personal favorite :)

: It is.

Taconelli's is good pizza, but far from the best in town. The "best" rating was given to Taconelli's by Philadelphia Magazine who should not be taken very seriously in such things. There's much better pizza in town, but I don't want to get into a debate so I will purposefully not be specific.

If you : want to go into South Phillie there are other possibilities. : It's just too darn bad though that Taconelli's does not deliver pizza to : your door. Janet I hope everyone is aware that you have to order your crust a day ahead at Taconelli's. No impulsive pizza evenings.
