While traveling in the beautiful country side of Ohio, we came upon a truly superb middle eastern restaurant in a little town called New Philadelphia (near a slightly larger town called Strassburg(?) in Holmes county (?)). The restaurant is called the Oasis and is located across the street from Monroe Plaza at 1245 Monroe Avenue (New Philadelphia). What surprised us was that the food was about the best middle eastern food that we had had. This is comming from a person who lives in the heart of New York CIty, which has a middle eastern restaurant every two blocks. If you are in the south eastern part of Ohio, it is worth the trip to the Oasis. BTW, New Philadelphia is in the heart of the Amish country and is worth a trip for that alone. The area is very peaceful and is a throwback to a bygone era.
Ohio
