There's a great restaurant in South Brunswick called Aranka's. It's traditional Hungarian food, and it's really good..
I was there on a Saturday night recently, they had chicken, veal, pork, beef, and even vegeterian dishes.
There was also a strolling violinist with a piano accompianist.
I think it's BYOB, however.
As for Italian, a nice, reasonable place is called Cafe' Primavera in Somerset....
