Raaj Mahal--GREAT Indian restaurant in NJ

I highly recommend a great Indian restaurant, the Raaj Mahal, on Hwy 35 in the Market Place strip mall in Shrewsbury, NJ. It's one of the best I've ever been to, the food is consistently WONDERFUL, and the dining rooms are nice and comfortable.

I'm especially partial to the chicken tikka, chicken tikka masalla, cheese stuffen naan, potato(e) stuffed paratha, mutter pineer, and curry chicken (all their curry is great).

(I know I totally butchered those spellings. Sorry. Hope you can recognize the stuff on the menu anyway.)

They even have a few American dishes in case not everyone at the table wants Indian, but don't worry, they aren't spreading themselves too thin, the Indian food is totally authentic and the selection is good.

I'm concerned about it's survival because it's never very busy when I go, and it's location within the strip mall isn't very visible; it's pretty far back, rather hidden. In other words, you have to know it's there, You probably wouldn't stumble accross it.

It was just taken over by new management a couple of months ago.

Spread the word. It's excellent!

You can't miss it now; it's next to an incredibly successful
new deli. I found this Indian restaurant bizarre; the new chef specializes in Indian *and* Italian food. I love Indian food, but found this to be one of the few places where I didn't like the food (Northern or Southern Indian) or the pushiness of the owner but that's only my opinion...

The deli and indian restaurant are also right next to
Nutrisystem and there's a women's excercise facility/spa in the complex - there'll be fewer people making their weight goals...
