My favorite reataurant is the Sushi House Manda. It is on Sahara, just west of the strip. If sushi is not your passion, I always enjoy Yolie's Brazilian Steak House on Paradise. They serve a wonderful array of meats brought to the table on skewers and carved tableside. Also I think Jerome's, also on Paradise is a great restaurant.

We just came back from a convention there. A few pointers:

At the high end, both Wolfgang Puck's Spago and the Coyote Cafe are absolutely outstanding, and both have cafe areas in addition to the fancier dining rooms.

Holy Cow is the only brewpub in the city, and it has good food as well, with an unexpected Wisconsin connection for 4 kinds of bratwurst, and walleye pike. It also serves excellent breakfasts, and is a fun place.

The Hard Rock Cafe is much better than most - their lime barbequed chicken is outstanding.

Up the street from the Hard rock on Paradise Road, between it and the Hilton, on the Hilton's side of the street, is an excellent semi-Mexican restaurant whose name escapes me. It's easy to spot, because it's the only decent looking restaurant along that stretch. Something with cactus...

Good luck!

Hi,

There are several good buffet in casinos, such as Balleys, Mirage, Treasure Island, Palace Station, Boarder Station, Ceseas Palace. The price is around $12.

The biggest buffet restaurant in Las Vegas or in the world, I think it's Rio Hotel's Buffet. It is not expensive, only $3.99 for lunch, $6.99 for dinner. The deserts is wonderful. I strongly recommand the Peacon Pie and strawberry cake!

In downtown, if you want try seafood buffet, you should try Fremont Hotel's buffet.

If you like try some chinese food, on strip, there is one chinese restaurant--Fortun Garden. The dim sum is good and seafood is also good. Or you can go to China town, there are several chinese restaurants there. There is one restaurant in Paradise Rd., I don't remember the name(maybe call Zejah House), the Mexican food is delicious.

Hope you have a good trip!

A lot depends on whether you want to get away from the Strip or not. I've lived in Las Vegas 20 years, so here's where the locals would go:

Cafe Michelle, on Flamingo at Maryland Parkway
Golden Nugget buffet - if you want a buffet, it's the best (the Rio's is good too) Good, inexpensive Italian food - Carluccio's, on Tropicana at Spencer (in the Liberace Plaza!) Good, expensive Italian food - Sergio's, on Tropicana east of Maryland Parkway

Another poster recommended Jerome's. It is good, but no longer located on Paradise...it has moved to Maryland Parkway near Vegas Valley.

Good authentic Chinese - Cathay House on Spring Mountain between Decatur and Jones

Good, expensive Chinese - Chin's in the Fashion Show Mall on the Strip

If you want to stay on the Strip, you can't go wrong in any of the restaurants at the Mirage or Treasure Island. Also check out Chevy's Mexican between the MGM Grand and the Aladdin.

There are many other recommendations I could make depending on where in the city you are able to go and depending on what kind of food you are interested in. Email me if you want some other ideas.--

Try Balducci's Italian Restaurant in the new Caesar's Shopping Center. I had the best chicken cutlet with gorgonzola sauce that I've ever had in my life. Thought I'd gone straight to Heaven....better than winning the jackpot!!

Enjoy.
