Try the broiler at Boulder Station, great steaks and seafood. Don't forget to order what they refer to as hashbrowns, not sure what it it really is, sort of a cross between that and a potatoe pancake, but whatever it is, it's incredible.

BTW - there is a whole page on Meal Deals and places to eat in vegas, up
on my site, it's under the Tips from the locals section. You can follow the links from the main menu. Sorry, it may be a little out of date as I didn't have a chance to update it this month.

Anybody out there, have any suggestions for the next update - feel free.

You also have to remember to look for new deals coming up daily. The first
two weeks that Texas station did their Alaskian King Crab deal, it was unbelievable. By the third week they had gone down in quality considerably.

Specials and deals, especially for food change constantly, you never know
what you are going to find.

Lady Luck was running a nice prime rib and lobster special recently, not
bad at all.

      Mike

I have lived here for about 10 years (and worked in local restaurants for the past 6), and the only buffet I'd ever even think of going to is at the Rio. However, that isn't saying much, since I've been there once.

What kind of restaurant are you looking for? I've eaten/worked at some great restaurants, but if you narrowed the field down a little (i.e., what kind of food? What price rage?) my suggestions would be more accurate.

This is just off the top of my head....

Sushi - Hamada of Japan (a little pricey, but worth it). Mexican - Chevy's has the best margarita's and salsa I've ever had, but the Coyote Cafe in the MGM is also really good. Tex-Mex - ZTejas has some incredible dinner items, and a great happy hour. Seafood - Emirl's Fish House in the MGM grand has an incredible wine list, and the banana cream pie is to die for. Steaks - The Palm at the Forum Shops is flawless, but is expensive. Same with Morton's in Fashion Show Mall. Chinese - Chin's in the Fashion Show is really good, but there's a little dive place on Spring Mountain right behind the mall called Sonny's. It's a local favorite. Something Different - Fog City Diner has *the* best clam chowder (clam chowdah, on the menu) I've *ever* had. And definitely order a pterydactl, it's one of the house speciality cocktails.

That's all I can think of right now...

Can't remember the name, but there's a Mexican restaurant on Tropicana Blvd. a couple stoplights off of Las Vegas Blvd. If you are coming into town from the South turn right on Tropicana. The food is outstanding especially after eating buffet food for a couple of days. Also there seems to be lots of local business there which speaks highly.

===================================================================== It may also be Macayos which would meet the same requirements. Their food is great, a little on the Steep side for Vegas, but not that bad!
