Since you will be coming a lot, we should get down to business. Where will you be staying/working? Will you have your own car or need to rely on public transportation? Do you have favorite cuisine, types of places? Is good more important, or interesting? As a start, though, let me suggest a few favorites Circling Cafe, USA in St. Charles (breakfast, lunch, espresso) Kaldis in Clayton (coffeehouse with panini, soup, other lite fare) House of India or India Palace Kemolls (Italian - upscale) Arcelia's (Mexican - pretty authentic) Nobus (sushi) Cater Jamaica Govindas (vegetarian) Dick [email removed] (Peter V Wolfe) made the audacious statement: >I'll be traveling to St. Louis for business frequently >over the next three to six months. REQ: St. Louis restaurants
I really like Mandarin Garden in St. Charles County. They have an excellent Princess Prawns dish, as well as the best Vegetable egg foo yong that I've ever had. Cathy Byland Carlisle wrote: : Peter, I don't know a damned thing about golf, but I can definitely recommend some : interesting AND good restaurants. : The following are in the Delmar Loop: : Seki--good Japanese. : Riddle's Penultimate Cafe--my favorite restaurant. Always fresh, interesting : and original. Enormous wine list, huge selection of great beer. Never had : a bad meal there and the atmosphere is cozy, not stuffy. : Saleem's--fun Lebanese, great garlic Bloody Mary's. Not a place for wimpy : eaters. : Nor is: : Red Sea--Ethiopian food, an adventure if you've never had it. : Thai Country Cafe--good, inexpensive Thai food, dinky little place. : A bit further West (East of 170, West of Hanley), Xinh Xinh. Excellent Vietnamese : food, very inepensive. The daughter has taken over from the mother, and the place : promises to get even better!! : Central West End: : Bar Italia--elegant Italian food, incredible desserts. : Kopperman's--a fun deli. : Dressel's--great pub food, good classical music. The Pub Above is, IMHO, one : of the two most romantic bars in St. Louis. : Llewellyn Ap Gryffydd--Welsh pub. Great rarebit and London Broil. Wonderful : atmosphere, and don't miss the Welsh Chips. : South St. Louis : Lo Russo's--lighter side Italian, very fresh, very interesting. : North County : El Pueblo Nuevo--authentic, delicious Mexican food. : Interesting enough for you? : -- : KIWI CARLISLE : [email removed] : My return address has been mangled to reduce spam.
