We are rolling in all of the above here!
My favorite Chinese restaurant is the Royal Chinese Barbecue on Olive in University City. They have recently become even better, with weekly specials based on fresh ingredients. Their Salted Pepper Soft-Shell Crab is wonderful, as are their asparagus stirfry dishes. And, of course, their old standby "pots", Chinese roast ("barbecued") pork (weekends only) and duck are always good.

As for Thai, there are four Thai restaurants in a block's radius on Delmar in U. City, The Thai Seafood Restaurant, the Thai Country Cafe (my fave), Thai Gai Yong (great roast chicken) and the Thai Cafe. The King and I on Grand is sometime good, but sort of sporadic. Hot dishes are sometimes "dumbed down" there.

I like Seki on Delmar for Japanese food, having given up on Nobu's when the food didn't seem as fresh any more.

Indian Food is well-represented at India Palace, House of India, India Rasoi.

All the Indian and Thai restaurants have vegetarian food, though I don't know about a no-MSG option. You might have to call and ask.

Chris, it amazes me that we don't know each other! You go to all my favorite places.

I would add Mai Lee on Delmar at I-170 (across the street from House of India) Choi's in Maryland Heights (strip mall on SE corner of Dorsett and McKelvey)
