Good point, Pamplemousse Grill isn't listed (currently the hotest upscale restaurant in SD County) and Laurel isn't listed in the "30 most popular" (and it's been around for ~two-three years now and was the hotest until Pamplemousse replaced it).

Some restaurants made Zagat's top 30 that I truly detest, but in looking at Zagat's reviews, negative comments were included for those.

A good choice, I'd also include Blue Point Coastal, La Strada, Bella Luna, Osteria Pannevino. Trattoria Mama Anna has gotten rave reviews, but I haven't been there.

California Cuisine had been uneven for many years, the last few times I've been back they seemed to have been rejuvinated, lunch can be a bargain (be sure to sit on the patio). I don't find Kimo Sabe as compelling, prefering Bonzai Cantina (Pacific Rim) or Park House Eatery (Southwestern) instead.

Agree 100%
