 Closed Monday.

Located in the old "Sears" building a half block south of Porter
Square and it's MBTA subway stop on the Red Line. In the space where
the Japanese Grocery use to be on the ground floor. Free validated
parking. About 10 tables. Take out available for a 10% surcharge.

My lady and I started with a good Miso Soup and an exquisite Adzuki
Bean soup. We then shared a fine Macro Platter (the contents change
daily based on what produce is available). We then split an excellent
 vegan blueberry cheese cake.

The service was friendly and prompt. The water glasses were kept full
 (unusual in a Macrobiotic restaurant).

Based on a single visit, Masao's is better then the now closed Open
Sesame, late of Brookline Village, and on par with Five Seasons in
 Jamaica Plains.

 Definitely worth a visit!
