I have been impressed with Finally Michaels on Route 9 (Framingham?).
Head for the bar side rather than the restaurant side and you get the
same food for much lower prices with a few more casual dining menu
items thrown in. This bar room is large and nice... lots of comfy wood
and a fire place. They have interesting "gourmet" cuisine, but also
have pizzas, meatloaf sandwiches, create your own pasta, basic steak &
potatoes. It's really a great menu with comfort food alongside your
more elaborate/creative cuisine (French, Northern Italian and Brazilian
influences). They give you nice side dishes with the entree. Yummy
garlic mashed potatoes, really good gurmet vegetable side dish. You
can also order from the more expensive main dining room menu in the
bar. But many of the best dining room items are repeated on the bar
menu (for 2/3 the price). By metrowest standards, this place shines.
The only thing I ever ordered there that I did not like was the
pistachio chicken, but I think they were having an off night.
