Dined Saturday evening at the Snow Squall Restaurant in South Portland, Maine. Seafood is cheerfully featured at this family upscale rest in S. Portland. A decent wine list, microbrews from New England's fine regional lineup, and carefully prepared unique entrees led to an enjoyable experience. Caesar salad $4.95 Three onion torte (Bermuda, leeks, and white onions carmelized and served on a pastry puff $5.00) seafood medley consisting of large shrimp, ocean scallops, mussels, garlic white wine over pasta @ $23. per entree. homemade warm bread; mixed vegetables steamed just right; Tiramisou $4.00 dessert. Efficient, friendly service. This place would have more atmosphere during boating season as we looked out the window to view ghostly hulls in white shrink-wrap and fluorescent lights on the docks. My mate had sampled the above meal and enjoyed smoked crab cakes for her entree at $14.00. A very positive dining experience.
