Portland has a number of great new restaurants that are very popular, but are not what most people think of as a family restaurant - difficult to get reservations, long waits, small tables, adventurous menus.

DiMilo's Floating Restaurant on the waterfront is a family restaurant with a traditional menu with an emphasis on seafood. The atmosphere is nautical and pleasant. It is actually an old ferry that was converted into a restaurant. Plenty of parking - a real plus in Portland. The food is good and the prices reasonable.

Enjoy!

My wife and I have eaten at DeMilo's and loved it. It is only about an hour from where we live Ma/Nh line and even though we live on the coast. WE enjoyed the fact that it was a floating restaurant. The food was very good and the prices weren't too excessive. Another place we like for seafood is called Boone's Restaurant also in Portland. Just up the street from Demilos on the left. If you8 happen to be in our area,Seabrook,N.H. try Lena's Restaurant off Rte. 286 in Salisbury,Ma. Good fried food and good portions. Avoid Brown's restaurant on the Rte.1-A side of Rte. 286 as they're not as generoooous in their portions and their food is greasy in my opinion. Gary L. wrote:
