There are a number of good restaurants in Lexington:

The Merrick Inn-its located in an old house. I think its off Tates Creek. Joe Bologna's-great pizza. its one block west of Limestone in an old synagoge. Columbia's Steakhouse-up near 3rd (Transy area). get the special. the steaks are great. Hall's on the River-is down near the kentucky river. great catfish, fried banana peppers and beer cheese.

hope this helps!

My daughter is a student at Berea College. The school runs a country inn called the Boone Tavern. In Berea it's one of the few passable places to eat. The food is upscale country...is that an oxymoron?

Most people who pass through Berea eat there at least once.

There is a small coffee shop 3-4 doors down called Berea Tea and Coffee. Great Scones!!!

Gary, Louisville is the only good-size city on your list, and it's very well equipped with good restaurants in a broad range of styles and prices. If you have a Web browser, point it to http://www.iglou.com/lou/eats.htm, where you'll find a fairly exhaustive list of reviews. I'm <coffcoff> the creator of this page; I was the restaurant and wine critic for the local newspapers for quite a few years before I bailed out of daily journalism.

If you'd like some tips on local sights and places of interest, let me know via EMail (preferably to my alternate address, [email removed]) and I'll be happy to answer questions.
