A few "best breakfasts" Here in Philadelphia the Down Home Diner in Reading Terminal Farmers Market serves great regional Philadelphia and southern breakfasts. Particular favorites include poached eggs atop of Mr. Moyer's Scrapple, Sausage and biscuties with richman's gravey and country ham, biscuites and gravy. In a similar vein, Skinhead's in Paduccah, Kentucky does great country ham and eggs. You can smell the ham cooking from all the way across the parking lot. Brennan's serves one of the more expensive breakfast's in this land and pretty much worth it. Am a particular fan of their eggs hussard. Used to be a place in San Francisco called Diodges or something. Wonderful omelettes. One of my most memorable breakfasts, to date, was at a hotel in Bergen, Norway. Five kinds of pickled herring, sausages, cheeses, fresh fruit. The herring was incredible, made the breakfast. And, then, there's the classic northern europe breakfast (Holland and Germany at least) - a basket of fresh breads and rolls, sliced sausage, sliced cheese and a half soft, half hard boiled egg. And deep, black coffee.
