We had our meeting last weekend, and everyone was absolutely blown-over by the food. On Thursday evening the officers and invited big-wigs went to Riva on Navy Pier. Excellent seafood in a very pretty environment. For Friday, we were luck enough to get a private room at Everest. (Recommended by several on this group) We overlooked the rail yards and I was fascinating to watch the changing scene as the sun set and night fell. The topper was the firsworks show; not sure what the event was, but I looked great!) Needless to say, the food and service were superlative. What a splendid way to dine with friends!) I mentioned in my posting that we like to pick a spot for Saturday night that serves a local clientele. This time we went to the Outpost restaurant based on another suggestion from this group. Another wonderful pick!. This neighborhood restaurant with outdoor seating was just what we were looking for. The food was excellent and the service relaxed but very efficient. Everyone had a wonderful time (the 72 degree weather with a light breeze didn't hurt either!) Last, I should note that every one of our far-flung participants(from UK to California to New Zealand) commented on the beauty of Chicago. That, along with the good eats and friendly people made our visit memorable. Thanks for your help.
