I dont think there is a restauramt comparable to Madras Woodlands here in the bay area. Most of the so called South Indian reataurants are usually a mix of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. The result is that they do justice to neither and come up with a product that is a compromise-- similar to products put out by large corporations-- okay but nothing brilliant. Having said all this Swagat is still okay. Now if anybody whats to know of a wonderful North Indian restaurant in Chicago, the best in its class anywhere in the world--it is Bukhara located in downtown Chicago, across from Embassy Suites hotel. The simplest way (not the shortest) to get there is to go west on Tasman Drive all the way to the end , make a right at the Stop sign and then make another right on to Persian Drive. Panchavati is in the small shopping center on the right side. It is a small place , and closes by 8 PM. Seems like one of those family run places. The lunch buffet is quite good. - BP
