Your burial might not cost as much as a meal here but you do get what you pay for. Certainly a suitable last meal for a foigras lover. Anyway, in the NW burbs are perhaps a couple of the finer french restaurants one can experience. Le Francais, where the original chef-owner Jean Banchet has recently come back and resumed his ownership/management, on 269 S. Milwaukee Ave (about one minute south of Dundee Rd) in Wheeling is certainly one of the finest french restaurants in this country. Another, often overlooked, high quality french restaurant in the NW burbs is Pierre Pollin's Le Titi de Paris on Dundee Rd in Arlington Hts. Of course this is coming from a city person who thinks going west of Cicero Ave. is a major event, but I've made the treks to these restaurants and will make them again because even though they are SUB-urban they are very fine restaurants. (caveat - I only point out that Jean Banchet has returned to Le Francais, in no way do I mean to diminish the fine quality that Roland and Mary Beth Liccioni maintained there during there tenure; a recent visit to Les Nomades only underscored that they are still excellent restauranteurs) Trent wrote: > Ink wrote: > > > > What's French and to die for in the NW burbs or near Chicago? > > Would that be better or worse than a restaurant that's to put your eyes > out for? > > I'm sorry, I /hate/ that expresion. > > trent
