Chateau Rose
5830 West Cermak Road
Cicero 60804

Don't forget -- all Central European Restaurants close early, and the specials run out even earlier.

:-) We tend to go to places we already know, I guess.

Pizza Capri/Vivaldi is doing a good business downtown, as you already know, Paul. Zanders Cafe at Belmont and Maple is still providing tasty, reasonably priced food. There are plenty of enjoyable places to eat at, but not too much new. Pacific Rim opened in Yorktown and provides an eclectic menu of well-prepared food. An Italian restaurant, LoCascio's, opened on Ogden Avenue, but we haven't been there yet.

The dining scene out here in the burbs has improved greatly in the last ten years or so.

Haven't been there. The restaurants up there change regularly but tend to be chains, which I generally avoid.

Wildfire (Melman) opened in Oakbrook Center, but it's pretty pricey. The two times I called for reservations, they were booked until 10:00 pm. Boce de Beppo (sp?) opened at Highland Avenue and Butterfield. Our youngest son ate there and liked it, but he likes anything. :-)

Basically, it's lots of pricey chains.
