Well, I wouldn't call Glen Ellyn "far" Western, but...

Geneva has a lot of great restauraunts, and it isn't too terribly far from Glen Ellyn. Never been there, but 302 in Geneva is supposedly excellent (jacket/tie REQUIRED, very expensive). Lesser expensive but elegant and good for small groups is Emilio's Tapas, which is also in Geneva, but I am sure that there is a location closer to Glen Ellyn, which has outdoor tables (as well as indoor).

While we're out that far, how about the Mill Race Inn? Classy grounds, good food. Haven't been there in years, tho.

Another place I like is the Dining Room, on Butterfield in Downers Grove. Appetizer portions like Tapas, but without the spanish accent. You eat sitting around on sofas. Right next to a sushi place, if anyone is so inclined.

Also, Benihana is right down the street for a more interactive experience.
