Sushi: I recommend Akai Hana at the intersection of Lake Ave. and Skokie Blvd. I have eaten there several times. I actually is in a strip mall just east of the above intersection, so you have to kind of look for it. Italian: There is a restaurant called The Noodle that is in Glenview that comes highly recommended, though I have yet to be there (perhaps next week). You'll have to check the phone book for the address; though I know where it is, I don't know the street names. There is a restaurant called _________ in a strip mall on the west side of Happ Road, a few blocks south of Willow Road. I have eaten there recently, and it was very good. Greek: I have no experience in greek food in that area. Other recommendations that you didn't ask for, but come free with the above advice :-): Chowpatti Vegetarian Restaurant: On Arlington Heights Road, in Arlington Heights. They have a wonderful 20-page vegetarian menu, and the food is very good. It is also inexpensive. It is probably 20-25 minutes from Northbrook, but worth the trip. The Weber Grill: This is a restaurant by the (shock) grill company. I had a "Tuscan-style" NY strip here that was excellent, as was a grilled bay scallop appetizer. I recommend it, therefore, for steaks. However, on a separate trip I had ahi tuna, and can not recommend it. Just north of Lake Cook on Milwaukee Avenue. Probably 10 minutes from Northbrook. Bob Chinn's Seafood Restaurant: The food was very good (ahi tuna, cooked rare, sashimi appetizer). However the atmosphere is awful, and you are routed through lines like cattle. You decide. South of Lake Cook and north of Willow Road on the east side of Milwaukee Ave. Just a few that come to mind. I have been working in that area quite a bit over the past three months.

Try the Pacific Rim Restaurant. They have sushi, as well as other entrees from Korea, Thailand, China, etc. They're just south of Lake-Cook Rd., on Old Skokie Rd. Hope you like it!

Just tried Akai Hana(Lake at Skokie Blvd in Wilmette) today- friday/saturday the 'sushi deluxe' is $9.00 for 8 pieces and 2 rolls ($14 regularly). The lady sitting next to us ordered a hand roll and was vocally disappointed in the lack of fish and overabundance of rice she got, the waiter pretty much just shrugged... Fast service (at 1pm on a Saturday they were 2/3 empty), reasonable prices, good menu selection.
