Eugene,

My fav value place in New Orleans is The Pearl -- probably closed for New Year's day but a great choice for other lunches and dinners. It's walking distance to the quarter in the adjacent business section.

In Atlanta, great inexpensive pasta can be had at La Pasta da Pulcinella on Peachtree Road between 10th and 11th Streets. Even cheaper is Tortilla's on Ponce de Leon for bean burritos and beer. More moderately priced are Surin's and Thai Chilli for Thai food. And for an outstanding 4 course meal for only $30 try Luna Si on Peachtree. Their chef is terrific.

Bon appetit! KK

And now that I'm thinking of inexpensive restaurants in Atlanta, a couple more come to mind that you might enjoy.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe on McClendon. Rocky's or Fellini's any location for pizza. The Euclid Avenue Yacht Club and La Fonda Latina (cheap paella) in Little Five Points. L5P is a funky area and interesting. The Yacht Club is kinda a gentle biker bar, but they have the best bean burritos in town.

Hope you enjoy our little city. Regards, KK
